IIII Want Candy!!

Ever since I can remember I have been a sugar-a-holic! I would take sugary sweet candy over chocolate any day...well, except for maybe today. That Snickers bar that has been melting and re-solidifying in my bag was AH-mazing! Anywho, I am incorporating gummy candy into my wedding by having a Candy Shop favor bar (more on that later!).

What better way to bring candy full circle than incorporating it in with my bridesmaid's accessories? How about CANDY bracelets?? I even used the ribbon from the shoes to tie it all together!

Here's what I did:
I went to Party City (howww have I never been introduced to that place until now?!) and bought enough bracelets for each bridesmaid to have 3. Truthfully, I bought necklaces because the dang bracelets had watch faces on them, not cool! So, I cut them all down into bracelet size:

Next, Hannah and I made little bows to tie in the polka-dot theme. We just folded over two ends of ribbon (that way the little tails don't get in the way!), and then hot-glued a little ribbon to add some color and hold the two ends together.

I then took 3 bracelets and wrapped the same yellow ribbon around, gluing it to hold the 3 bracelets together. Then, we glued the bow to the top to create only the cutest little candy bracelets ever created!!

I made smaller ones for the flower girls too! Hopefully they can wait til the ceremony and pictures are over until they eat them!!

Just a little Wedding DIY

I just asked my BFF Always a Northerner if she wanted to place bets on how many times I will start up a blog...

I have been inspired. My oh-so-talented and beautiful stylist Lindsey Regan Thorne of be pretty suggested I start a blog showing off my little DIY projects I've been working on for my wedding. I have always thought of myself as slightly crafty and creative but I am really proud of what I have done!

First, let me start off by saying that my wedding is COMPLETELY untraditional. We are sportin' a 1950s soda pop theme, complete with a ice cream float and candy bar. Here is a sneak peak at our groomsmen outfits, styled by LRT of be pretty!:

To complete the outfit, the groomsmen will rock some yellow and pink converse sneaks!

Now on to the DIY!

For my bridesmaids, I wanted to step up their look to match the boys. The girls will wear these dresses from David's Bridal. I wanted them to wear pink shoes, but because we are getting married in a garden, a heel would definitely be bothersome. So I picked up these cute wedge flip flops from Old Navy...

But, these are way too plain. Our wedding flowers are daisies...boring for a flip flop though! So I brainstormed and came up with using ribbon to create flowers. I went to Michaels and bought a few different variations of ribbon in our colors (yellow, pink and orange/coral). We bought yellow pompons and used a glue gun to bring it all together. Like so....

My BFF Hannah and I banged them out in one night! Here is the finished product:
And I made some for my sweet little flower girls too!

These cute little flippies turned out better than I could have hoped for! Not to mention, it alleviates some of the costs for the bridesmaids; they are already spending enough to travel. The flip flops cost $7.50 (Old Navy), a couple rolls of ribbon @ $2.50 each, pompons @ $2.50/bag of 15, all this adds up to a cheap, cute and comfortable shoe for any occasion!

Starting Anew

Annnnd I'm back! Hopefully for good this time... I've attempted blogging about three times and never was able to get into it. I guess I needed to be happy with my own life before I shared it with others. What better time to start then when I'm about to begin a new life and move to a new house.

Uggghhh. Moving. I loathe it. I have to say I'm kind of a pro at this point, though. I've moved a lot since I was a sophomore in college, so much so that I've discovered a love for bubble wrap and rubbermaid containers. I hate being unorganized, which moving causes a lot of. Here is my apartment now:

Annnn obstacle course. Seriously. I pray for an early Friday.
